Leighanna Worley is a Johnston County native. She began her career in Municipal Government in 2001 working for the Towns of Pine Level and Selma until April of 2006 when she was appointed Town Clerk for the Town of Wilson's Mills and served in this role for 17 years. Leighanna served as the Town Administrator from 2008 through 2010; and then again from 2018 until April of 2026 when the Town changed to a Council-Manager form of government, and the Town Council appointed her as the town's first Town Manager.

Leighanna graduated in 2009 from the Clerk's Institute at the School of Government at UNC Chapel Hill. She received her designation for Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) from the IIMC and UNC School of Government in 2011, then received her Master Municipal Clerk Certification (MMC) in 2016.  Leighanna also received her North Carolina Certified Municipal Clerk designation (NCCMC) from the NC Association of Municipal Clerks in 2012. 

During her involvement with the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks, Leighanna has served on various committees, and served as President of the Association from 2018-2019. Leighanna has also been a member of the North Carolina City & County Management Association since 2018.

Outside of the Town of Wilson’s Mills, Leighanna serves on the Board of Directors for the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce; and as an Advisory Council Member for Civic Federal Credit Union. In her free time, Leighanna enjoys cooking, and traveling around the country with her family and friends.
